Tuberculum sellae

The tuberculum sellae is a bony prominence of the Os sphenoidale in the middle cranial fossa, forming the anterior boundary of the Sella turcica.

Anatomy

Anteriorly, the tuberculum sellae borders the transversely oriented Sulcus chiasmatis for the Chiasma opticum. The Fossa hypophysialis is located dorsally. Laterally on both sides, a small bony prominence extends, the Processus clinoideus medius[^1].
