Fossa cranii media (Middle Cranial Fossa)

The middle cranial fossa (Fossa cranii media) is formed by the sphenoid bone, parts of the temporal bone, and the parietal bone. The temporal lobes of the brain are located in the middle cranial fossa. The pituitary gland is located in the sella turcica, which is also situated in the Fossa cranii media. Numerous anatomical structures have openings through the middle cranial fossa.
