Hosting, delivery and security
Cloudflare Pages hosts this website. Cloudflare also delivers media, including videos through Cloudflare R2. Requests involve processing technical data such as your IP address, requested URL, access time, browser information, volume of data transferred and, where supplied, the referring page. This supports content delivery, troubleshooting and protection against abuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure, available information service (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
The recipient is Cloudflare, Inc., USA, together with its affiliates and service providers. See the Cloudflare privacy policy for processing and international transfer information.
Audience measurement with Plausible
We use Plausible at neuron.ars-neurochirurgica.com, loaded through Cloudflare Zaraz. It measures page views, referral sources, device and browser categories, approximate location and interactions such as downloads and outbound links. Plausible does not use analytics cookies or persistent profiles that track visitors across websites. IP addresses and browser information are used for technical processing and daily visitor counts; according to Plausible, raw IP addresses are not stored in analytics data.
We use aggregate statistics to improve this resource, on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. See Plausible’s data policy.
Search with Algolia
When you use site search, your search terms and technical connection information, including your IP address and browser information, are sent to Algolia to return relevant results. Do not enter patient names, records or other personal health information. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing usable search (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). See the Algolia privacy policy for information about Algolia, Inc. and its processing.
Newsletter and email contact
When you subscribe, the newsletter form sends your email address and the language of the signup page to Buttondown, LLC, USA. Buttondown also processes technical signup and delivery information to manage your subscription and send the newsletter. Sending the newsletter is based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). Withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in a newsletter email or by contacting us. See the Buttondown privacy policy.
If you contact us, we process your email address, message and any name you provide to respond to your inquiry. Our email service providers process these data to transmit and store the correspondence. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Article 6(1)(b) for contractual inquiries. Please do not send identifiable patient information. This website does not provide individual medical consultations.
Cookies and planned Google AdSense advertising
No advertising scripts are currently integrated. Google AdSense has not been activated. This section explains the planned use after activation. Reading this policy does not constitute consent to advertising or tracking.
If AdSense is activated, Google and other advertising providers may use cookies or similar storage technologies to deliver ads, measure their use and prevent abuse. Depending on consent, ads may be personalized using previous visits to this website and other websites. Processing may include IP addresses, device identifiers and information about page visits.
Before advertising technologies requiring consent are used, we will obtain the necessary consent. Before activating personalized Google ads for visitors in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom or Switzerland, we will implement a Google-certified consent platform. It will identify the participating partners and purposes and allow consent to be changed or withdrawn through the privacy settings made available at that time. The basis for such processing is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and applicable rules on storing or accessing information on devices.
Read how Google uses data from partner websites and the Google privacy policy. You can manage personalized Google advertising in My Ad Center. YourAdChoices offers additional opt-out choices for participating advertising providers. These settings do not replace the consent choices on this website.
Your browser lets you delete or block stored cookies, including cookies from previous advertising providers. Essential hosting security functions may use their own storage technologies; Cloudflare describes these in its privacy policy.
Recipients, transfers and retention
The providers named above receive data as needed for the purposes described. Some process data outside the EEA, particularly in the USA. Their linked policies explain transfer arrangements, such as applicable adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses. You may contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your data.
We retain personal information only as long as needed for its purpose. Correspondence is retained until the inquiry is resolved and, where necessary, for documentation, subject to legal retention or evidence requirements. Newsletter information is processed for the duration of the subscription; necessary records of consent and unsubscription may be retained afterwards. Security, troubleshooting and any incident investigation determine how long technical logs are needed. Provider retention information is also available in the policies linked above.
Your rights
Subject to the GDPR, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation. You may withdraw consent at any time for future processing. Contact us using the email address above.
You may complain to a data protection authority, particularly where you live, work or believe an infringement occurred. In Austria, this is the Austrian Data Protection Authority.
Providing contact details and subscribing are voluntary. We cannot deliver a newsletter without your email address, and may be unable to answer an inquiry without the necessary contact information. We do not make automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.
