Processus clinoideus medius

Synonyms
middle clinoid process

The Processus clinoideus medius is a small, paired bony process that may be present at the anterior margin of the Sella turcica of the Os sphenoidale.

Anatomy

An independent bony process, the Processus clinoideus medius, may occur between the Processus clinoideus anterior and Processus clinoideus posterior. The Processus clinoideus medius may fuse with the Processus clinoideus anterior, resulting in a separate opening, the Foramen caroticoclinoideum[^1].
