The chiasmatic sulcus is a transverse bone groove on the intracranial surface of the sphenoid bone and serves as a surface for the optic chiasm.

Anatomy

The chiasmatic sulcus is located at the base of the Alae minores ossis sphenoidalis, behind the Spina ethmoidalis, and directly rostral to the Tuberculum sellae. It terminates on both sides in the optic canal, through which the optic nerve and the ophthalmic artery pass into the obita.
