Sinus durae matris

The sinus durae matris are venous channels that run within the dura mater and receive venous tributaries from within the cranial cavity.

Structure

The rigid wall of these venous channels is formed by the cranial periosteum and the dura mater. Internally, the sinus durae matris are lined with endothelium and have no valves[^1]. The following venous channels are classified as sinus durae matris:
