The superior petrosal sinus is a venous sinus of the brain.
Anatomy
The superior petrosal sinus runs along the superior border of the petrous pyramid parallel to the Sinus petrosus inferior. The superior petrosal sinus communicates with the Sinus cavernosus and drains venous blood from the middle cranial fossa to the Sinus sigmoideus. At the skull base, it forms the Sulcus sinus petrosi superioris.
