Falx cerebri

The falx cerebri is a dural fold that separates the two cerebral hemispheres.

Anatomy

The falx cerebri projects into the Longitudinal fissure of the cerebrum and is attached anteriorly to the crista frontalis and Crista galli and posteriorly to the protuberantia occipitalis interna. The falx cerebri ends just above the Corpus callosum and encloses the Inferior sagittal sinus within its free margin.

Clinical relevance

Meningiomas located at the falx cerebri are also referred to as Falcine meningiomas.
