The dorsum sellae is a bony structure of the Skull base and is located on the posterior aspect of the Sella turcica. The dorsum sellae is part of the Sphenoid bone [^2].
Anatomy
Together with the Tuberculum sellae, the dorsum sellae forms the boundary of the Fossa hypophysialis, which contains the Pituitary gland. A venous channel may be present within the dorsum sellae; although it does not constitute a true Dural sinus, it is connected to the Sinus cavernosus, Sinus petrosus inferior, and Superior. This venous channel within the dorsum sellae was identified in 76 % of cases in a cadaveric study[^1].
