The cistern of the lamina terminalis is a cerebrospinal fluid-filled cistern of the brain.
Anatomy
The cistern of the lamina terminalis is located between the knee of the corpus callosum and the upper chiasmatic area. The cistern of the lamina terminalis is connected to the chiasmatic cistern, the olfactory cistern and the pericallosal cistern. In some cases, the cistern of the lamina terminalis may be separated from the chiasmatic cistern by a septum[^1]. The anterior cerebral artery and the anterior communicating artery along with the anteromedial central arteries run through the cistern of the lamina terminalis[^1].
