proGAV 2.0 shunt system

The proGAV 2.0 is an adjustable shunt valve that, according to the manufacturer’s specifications, is MRI-compatible up to 3 tesla. The valve’s pressure setting can either be read radiologically on X-ray images or determined using a special magnet supplied by the manufacturer, which must be positioned in the correct location over the shunt valve.

Pressure setting

The preset pressure setting is changed using a special magnet supplied by the manufacturer, similar to the mechanism used to read the pressure setting.

The proGAV 2.0 shunt system can be identified on X-ray images[^1].
