Cranial sutures

In the skull, in the region of bones preformed in connective tissue, three different types of sutures are generally distinguished[^1]:

• Sutura plana (plane suture)

• Sutura serrata (serrate suture)

• Sutura squamosa (squamous suture)

The sutures of the skull include:

• Sagittal suture

• Coronal suture

• Squamous suture

• Lambdoid suture

• Sphenosquamosal suture

• Frontozygomatic suture

• Sphenoparietal suture

• Occipitomastoid suture
