The carotid bifurcation refers to the site at which the Common carotid artery branches into the External carotid artery and the Internal carotid artery.

Localization

In most textbooks, the carotid bifurcation is located at the level of the intervertebral disc between the 3rd and 4th cervical vertebral bodies[^1].
