To calculate the ETVSS, the points for age, etiology, and previous shunt are added together. The resulting score gives the probability in % that the endoscopic third ventriculostomy performed will still be successful after 6 months. For example, an ETVSS of 80 points means that after 6 months there is an 80% chance that the endoscopic third ventriculostomy will be successful[^2].
