The Codman Hakim shunt valve can be used in MRI systems up to 3 Tesla in accordance with the official manufacturer information without impairing valve function. However, the manufacturer explicitly recommends checking the shunt valve setting after MRI because it may be altered by the magnetic fields in the MRI system[^1]. According to the official manufacturer information, there is no degradation in the valve's adjustability at 1.5-Tesla MRI. At 3-Tesla MRI, reduced adjustability of the shunt valve may occur after 10 MRI examinations.
