CRASH 2 Trial

The CRASH 2 study was published in 2010[^1] and demonstrated that the use of Tranexamic acid in patients with Traumatic brain injury and significant bleeding is associated with few adverse effects and that mortality at 4 weeks is significantly lower.

Interpretation by the study authors

Tranexamic acid safely reduced the risk of death in bleeding trauma patients in this study. On the basis of these results, tranexamic acid should be considered for use in bleeding trauma patients.
