Uncus

In neurosurgery, the term uncus refers to the anteriorly extending portion of the Parahippocampal gyrus.

Neurosurgical relevance

In the presence of space-occupying lesions or increased Intracranial pressure, the uncus may shift toward the Pons, a condition referred to as uncal Herniation[^1].
