The Sulcus circularis insulae surrounds the lateral surface of the insular cortex and separates it from the Operculum of the Frontal lobe, Temporal lobe, and Parietal lobe. The transition from the M2 segment of the Middle cerebral artery (MCA) to the M3 segment occurs in this sulcus.
