Nucleus fastigii

The paired nucleus fastigii (fastigial nucleus) is one of the four cerebellar nuclei.

Anatomy

The nucleus fastigii is located near the midline in the white matter of the vermis in the cerebellum. The nucleus fastigii receives fibers from the cortex of the vermis, the vestibular nuclei, and the inferior olive. The efferent fibers of the nucleus fastigii course to the vestibular nuclei and other nuclei of the medulla oblongata1.
