Synonyms: MTT

The mean transit time (MTT) is a parameter for cerebral perfusion in CT perfusion. The MTT reflects the average time required for blood to perfuse a region of the brain.

Calculation

The MTT is calculated from the cerebral blood flow (CBF) and cerebral blood volume (CBV) according to the following principle: MTT = CBV / CBF 1.

Use

The mean transit time is a suitable parameter for the diagnostic evaluation of vasospasm.
