The Hand Knob is a characteristic cortical region of the precentral gyrus that contains the motor representation of the contralateral hand. The Hand Knob represents an important anatomical landmark in functional neuroanatomy and is of particular significance in neurosurgery and neuroradiological imaging. On Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), it typically exhibits a distinctive omega (Ω)- or epsilon-shaped configuration, thereby allowing reliable identification of the primary motor hand area.[^1].
Surface anatomy
Projected onto the skull, it is located 4 cm behind the Coronal suture and approximately 2–4 cm lateral to the midline[^2].
