Congestive hemorrhage

A congestive hemorrhage, also known as a stasis hemorrhage, is an intracerebral hemorrhage that can occur due to cerebral venous sinus thrombosis or intraoperative occlusion of a vein. Impaired venous return causes increased intravascular pressure proximal to the venous occlusion, consequently resulting in rupture and hemorrhage into the brain parenchyma.
