Sindou Classification for Meningiomas

The Sindou classification was published in 2006[^1] and is used to classify meningiomas with respect to the superior sagittal sinus.

Characteristics with respect to the superior sagittal sinus

I

Adjacent to the lateral wall of the superior sagittal sinus

II

Invasion of the lateral recess of the superior sagittal sinus

III

Invasion of the lateral wall of the superior sagittal sinus

IV

Invasion of the lateral wall and roof of the superior sagittal sinus

V

Complete occlusion of the superior sagittal sinus, the contralateral sinus wall is not affected

VI

Complete occlusion of the superior sagittal sinus with ipsilateral and contralateral involvement of the sinus wall.
