The Extended Glasgow Outcome Scale is a modified version of the Glasgow Outcome Scale and is used to classify outcome after traumatic brain injury[^1].

Grade | Designation | Definition |
1 | Death | Dead. |
2 | Vegetative state | Unable to obey commands. |
3 | Lower severe disability | Dependent on others for care. |
4 | Upper severe disability | Independent at home. |
5 | Lower moderate disability | Independent at home and outside the home, with mental and/or physical disability. |
6 | Upper moderate disability | Independent at home and outside the home, with mental and/or physical disability. However, in better condition than Grade 5. |
7 | Lower good recovery | Able to resume normal activities of daily living, but with some limitations. |
8 | Upper good recovery | No limitations. |
