Vertebroplasty

Percutaneous vertebroplasty is a minimally invasive neurosurgical procedure for the treatment of vertebral body fractures in which the fractured vertebra is filled internally with bone cement and thereby stabilized. Unlike Kyphoplasty, the Vertebral body is not re-expanded but merely stabilized with Bone cement.

Imaging

The bone cement introduced during vertebroplasty can be optimally visualized on CT imaging.
