Spinal fusion refers to the surgical fusion of one or more spinal segments. Spinal fusion can be performed in the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar Spine.

Screw loosening

The Pedicle screws used in spinal fusion may loosen over time and lose their fixation. Screw loosening can be diagnosed using a CT scan, which shows a Hypodense rim around the screw.
