Sheehan syndrome is a rare postpartum obstetric complication characterized by partial or global hypopituitarism.
Pathophysiology
In Sheehan syndrome, hypoperfusion of the Inferior hypophyseal artery occurs; this artery supplies the posterior portion of the Pituitary gland.
