The Raphe nuclei are a group of nuclei in the brainstem.

Anatomy

The Raphe nuclei are located along the entire rostro-caudal axis of the median line of the brainstem[^1]. The nuclei are traditionally considered part of the reticular formation.

Function

The Raphe nuclei are involved in the regulation of various functional systems such as pain perception, the limbic system, and the motor system[^1].
