The obex marks the most caudally located point of the rhomboid fossa (fossa rhomboidea).

Anatomy

At the obex, the median sulcus of the Medulla oblongata terminates. The obex marks the transition from the Fourth ventricle to the Central canal and serves as an anatomical landmark in neurosurgery.
