The Aperturae laterales ventriculi quarti, usually referred to in clinical practice as the foramina of Luschka, are a paired connection between the internal and external cerebrospinal fluid spaces.

Anatomy

These are two lateral openings of the fourth ventricle into the subarachnoid space. The Aperturae laterales arise below the inferior cerebellar peduncles.
