The dentate nucleus is one of the cerebellar nuclei and is the largest nucleus of the cerebellum.
Nomenclature
The name of the dentate nucleus is derived from its serrated, band-like structure.
Anatomy
The dentate nucleus is located in both cerebellar hemispheres within the pontocerebellum and has a close connection with their cerebellar cortex. Medial to it are the other cerebellar nuclei: emboliform nucleus, globose nucleus, and fastigial nucleus.
