Cisterna premedullaris

The cisterna premedullaris is a Cerebrospinal fluid-filled Cistern located on the anterior surface of the Medulla oblongata.

Anatomy

Cranially, the cisterna premedullaris is connected to the Cisterna pontis. Caudally, it is connected to the anterior spinal cistern, and laterally to the Cisterna cerebellomedullaris. The cisterna premedullaris contains the Arteria spinalis anterior and venous vessels[^1].
