Cerebrovascular reserve capacity (CVR)

Cerebrovascular reserve capacity (CVR) refers to the potential for increasing cerebral blood flow from a resting state.

Diagnostic evaluation

Cerebrovascular reserve capacity is typically determined by measuring cerebral blood flow (CBF) using PET or SPECT . Alternatively, transcranial Doppler ultrasonography (TCD) can be used as an indirect perfusion measurement because it is noninvasive and requires little measurement effort, via Transcranial Doppler ultrasonography (TCD). CO2 inhalation or administration of Acetazolamide is used as the stimulation method[^1].
