The classification by Yson et al. from 2013[^1] describes injury to facet joints caused by pedicle screws using 3 different grades.

Grade

Description

Grade 0

No impairment

Grade 1

Screw head in contact with/suspected of being in contact with the facet joint.

Grade 2

The screw has clearly injured the facet joint.
