The SPORT study investigated the effectiveness of surgical decompression for spinal stenosis compared with conservative treatment.
The study showed that patients who underwent surgery for spinal stenosis without degenerative spondylolisthesis demonstrated significantly greater improvement in pain, satisfaction, function, and self-assessment of progress compared with patients who were treated conservatively1.
