The sulcus basilaris is a bony groove in the anterior portion of the Pons, through which the Basilar artery runs.
Anatomy
The sulcus basilaris is vertically oriented and lies in the midline of the pons. The basilar artery runs within the sulcus basilaris. The sulcus basilaris is bounded on both sides by a prominence formed by the fiber bundles running through the pons.
