The stylomastoid artery is a branch of the Arteria auricularis posterior, which in turn arises from the Arteria carotis externa.
Anatomy
Course
The stylomastoid artery arises from the external carotid artery and then passes through the Foramen stylomastoideum and anastomoses with the Arteria tympanica anterior and a branch of the Arteria meningea media, the superficial petrosal branch.
Supply
The stylomastoid artery supplies the tympanic cavity and the mastoid air cells of the Mastoid process.
