Sponge forceps

Sponge forceps are a medical instrument constructed similarly to a clamp. Unlike a clamp, however, the two jaws at the distal end are widened.

Uses

Sponge forceps are used in neurosurgery for various purposes, such as holding or passing surgical swabs, for retraction, or for blunt dissection.
