Sigmoid sinus diverticulum

A sigmoid sinus diverticulum, also referred to as sigmoid sinus dehiscence, is an outpouching of the Sigmoid sinus[^3].

Epidemiology

Sigmoid sinus diverticula occur with a prevalence of approximately 1,2% in asymptomatic patients, with women affected more frequently than men[^1]. In patients with ipsilateral pulsatile tinnitus, sigmoid sinus diverticula are found in up to 23% of patients [^2].
