The Sanchez point serves as the occipital entry point for a puncture of the temporal horn of the lateral ventricle.
Definition
The Sanchez point is located 5.6 cm above and then 2.7 cm lateral to the inion. To perform a ventricular puncture through the Sanchez point, the catheter trajectory should aim 5° lateral to the parasagittal plane and 30° caudal to the orbitomeatal line[^1]. The Sanchez point was first described in 2014 by Sanchez et al.[^2] Studies aiming at ventricular puncture using the Sanchez point have not yet been published.
