Rickham Reservoir

Last edit by Alaric Steinmetz on

A Rickham reservoir is a subcutaneously implantable reservoir in the skull with a puncturable plastic capsule. A Rickham reservoir is connected via a catheter to the ventricular system.

Use

A Rickham reservoir can be used to repeatedly obtain cerebrospinal fluid from the ventricular system by puncturing the reservoir. The Rickham reservoir can also be used for intrathecal chemotherapy or antibiotic therapy.
