Prevalence

Last edit by Alaric Steinmetz on

Prevalence is a term from epidemiology and is a measure of disease frequency. Prevalence indicates what proportion of people in a population of a defined size are affected by a particular disease or have a risk factor at a given point in time. As a rule, the prevalence of a disease in a population is only estimated based on a sample, since completely surveying a population would be too time-consuming or impossible.
