The planning target volume, referred to in the literature as Planning target volume (PTV), is a term used in Radiotherapy. The planning target volume includes the Gross tumor volume (GTV), the Clinical target volume (CTV) and an additional margin intended to provide an extra safety margin for setup errors, movements, and any geometric variations[^1].
