The nucleus dentatus is one of the deep cerebellar nuclei and is the largest nucleus of the cerebellum.

Nomenclature

The name nucleus dentatus is derived from its jagged, band-like structure.

Anatomy

The nucleus dentatus is located in both cerebellar hemispheres within the pontocerebellum and has a close connection with their cerebellar cortex. Medial to it are the other deep cerebellar nuclei: nucleus emboliformis, nucleus globosus, and nucleus fastigii.
