Neurapraxia is a functional impairment of a nerve, usually caused by stretching or compression. It represents the mildest form of nerve injury, as neither the individual nerve cell itself nor the surrounding structures are disrupted in their continuity.

Classification

Neurapraxia corresponds to a grade I nerve lesion according to the Sunderland classification.
