Meralgia paresthetica is a compression syndrome of the Nervus cutaneus femoralis lateralis[^1].
Etiology
The lateral femoral cutaneous nerve is most commonly compressed as it passes through the inguinal ligament at the anterior iliac spine.
Symptoms
Meralgia paresthetica causes numbness and pain in the lateral thigh on the affected side. Since the nerve is purely sensory, meralgia paresthetica does not cause any motor deficits.
