The mental nerve is the sensory terminal branch of the inferior alveolar nerve.

Anatomy

The mental nerve exits the cranial cavity through the Foramen mentale and courses to the skin and mucosa of the lower lip and chin

Innervation

The mental nerve provides innervation to the skin of the lip and chin.
