The lacrimal bone is a thin, approximately quadrilateral bone located on the medial wall of the orbit.

Anatomy

Sulcus lacrimalis

The sulcus lacrimalis is the lacrimal groove, which is completed by the frontal process of the maxilla to form the fossa sacci lacrimalis.

Crista lacrimalis posterior

The crista lacrimalis posterior is a sharp ridge forming the posterior border of the sulcus lacrimalis. Inferiorly, the ridge has an anteriorly curved hook, the hamulus lacrimalis, which forms the inferior margin of the fossa sacci lacrimalis1.
