Kaufmann point

The Kaufmann point is a landmark in neurosurgery for ventriculostomy of the frontal horn of the lateral ventricle and was first described in 1970 1. The Kaufmann point is measured 4 cm superior to the Nasion and 3cm lateral to the midline, and the catheter is advanced approximately 6-7cm toward the midline and 3 cm above the external occipital protuberance.
