The hiatus canalis nervi petrosi minoris is a small bony opening in the petrous pyramid in the middle cranial fossa.

Anatomy

The Nervus petrosus minor and the superior tympanic artery pass through the hiatus canalis nervi petrosi minoris. These two structures thus enter the tympanic cavity through the hiatus canalis nervi petrosi minoris.
